Can anyone tell me about this university ? Are they regionally accredited? I know they are CCNE accredited. Anyone graduated from there?

Any information would be appreciated.

I don't believe they hold regional accreditation. I would recommend contacting the school to be sure. If you do, please let us know what you find out. :)

LunahRN,

Have not been able to find evidence of regional accreditation.

Specializes in Correctional Nursing; MSN student.

I'm wondering the same thing. Apparently they are not regionally accredited. While I know this is important I don't really know why. If one wants to earn their MSN from a school like this what does that mean in the long run???

Other schools might not accept your degree/credits if you decide to return for an MSN or DNP and your school didn't have regional accreditation. It's just as important as national accreditation.

American Sentinel University also has it's own MSN & DPN as well as the BSN!

CCNE Accredited Nursing Degree Programs.

From what I found, the MSN with ASU is also accredited. But ASU is not listed when I checked for the DNP. I hope this sheds a tiny bit of insight.

American Sentinel will not accept quarter credits for Gen Ed. if earned under the quater system. Even if you have 3 quarters that would equal 2 semesters in any other school on the credit.

They wanted me to repeat my English/Psych/Soc and something else. I had 3 quarters, a full year of each of those. But they "don't combine courses". Even if they are the sequence classes (English 111,112,113/ Psych 101,102,103/ Soc 111,112,113).

So beware if you have an AS from a college on the quarter system!
