A&P and Micociology at the same time?

  1. Would you suggest taking/studying for these two subjects at the same time? If not what Nursing Concepts would you suggest to study along with one of these subjects?

It's hard to say not knowing your situation/class and/or work schedule etc. Just know that both can be very time consuming and so much will depend on your professors. A&P is an absolute must in my opinion before getting too far in to your nursing classes. It will help out a lot. Most of the things in Micro that you will need will in fact be presented in your actual nursing curriculum, if your nursing program is anything like mine. However, both A&P and Micro. are usually prereqs. to nursing classes anyway. If you have the time and can do both, then go for it! But do plan on putting in the hours. If you are a full-time student, the other classes I would take with these two, would be the easiest I could find! My Micro. has a lot of Chemistry, so that is also a consideration. If you are a Chem wiz, that will help! Good luck!

I actually just took A&P 2 and Microbiology w/ labs together this past semester and got all A's. It was hard and time consuming but it can be done. I am a full time teacher and mother and I was in class every night except friday. You just have to prioritize and put your mind to it.

A lot of people told me not to do it and I was crazy for taking those classes together but I needed to because I am starting an accelerated program in May.

Don't be discouraged....time management will definitely be the key for you to do well in these classes. Good Luck!!!

Akanini, I'm planning on taking EoNC Health Safety next month, I'll purchase the study guides for Micro but I'll be studying for Micro when I get bored studying nursing stuff and I can even wait until the wait for the CPNE. You can always take Micro and A&P when you are waiting for the CPNE, the wait now is about 6-8 months for Albany thats plenty of time to do those generals. Take it easy finish up the PN first you'll need time to study for the NCLEX and I'm not sure if your planning on working right after but all that has to be taken into account.

I thought that right after graduating from PN that I'd apply but I was told I had to wait for my license first. Now that that has happened I've applied getting ready to do the first test and I'll enroll. You need any advice PM me.
