by Anxious Patient Premium Member

The survey showed that:

Sixteen percent nominated doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals as their preferred marriage partners, higher than any other profession.

The media was the single least trusted group.

16% is a minority . . . . count me in the majority.

The only aspect I'd find alluring about being married to a doctor would be the financial security. Otherwise, nothing else about being wed to a doc appeals to me.

No desire at all to marry a doctor.

Wonder if the people surveyed took into account the ridiculously long hours that healthcare professionals generally work, as well as ego problems?

Me, I don't have any real interest in marrying a physician.

Count me out, too. Not because I think they're bad people or anything. I just like having my DH work normal enough hours to be around. I would also hate getting midnight calls from the answering service, having him leave all the time for emergencies, etc.

As a non-medical person, I think one advantage to marrying a doctor, nurse, etc. would be that I could get good recommendations for medical care. Imagine the peace of mind a patient would have to be able to chose a surgeon who has passed muster from an operating room nurse who was witness to their skill.

Count me out on this one.
For me, a physician spouse holds no allure at all.
