To those who are being mandated ( and would be willing to take the H1N1vaccine ), why not ask your fellow nurses to sign a letter to your hospital administration saying , after you take it , we'll take it !

Check out this poll, only 35% of the public plans on getting vaccinated themselves, but they want healthcare workers to do it.

There is an organization out there for people whose civil liberties are at risk. It's called the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). The most productive thing nurses who are mandated to take this vaccine could do right now is get online with an SOS letter and get this organization involved.

I think it's simple. Those who get the shot will be protected, right ( including patients)? So why do health care workers need to get the vaccination to protect the patients ( if THEY (patients) get the shot they WILL be protected) DUH!!!!!!!

Wow, is this truly where this country is heading? The gov't and its media pet instigates mass fear, creating economic stimulation for the big pharma and health care sector. Then healthcare workers are mandated to get this shot, read ALL healthcare workers, including those who have been exposed and became sick (or asymptomatic) and are now immune. I myself am continually exposed to the virus, I have been coughed in the face by patients with pos. flu on several occasions and never got sick. In fact, I have never had the flu (at least never have experienced flu symptoms) and have NEVER had the flu shot. Wow, imagine that, I have lived over 3 decades and my darling immune system has protected me. This whole thing is wrong on sooo many levels. Their are risks and if history repeats itself like in 1976, there will be deaths and guillain barre syndrome resulting from the vaccine. Even without any risks, it is still so wrong to be forced against my will, my basic rights violated just to ease the fears of the mass public, to create economic stimulation, to be pawn in this corrupt gov't and pharmaceutical scheme. I hate to think what will come next.

If this does in fact happen, I will be banding together with other nurses who will stand up for our rights and freedom to choose what we will do with our own body. I will not be a martyr for the mass public or my patients. I give the utmost in quality care to my patients but I have rights as they do and their rights do not supercede mine -- we are equal. If this happens, protests and strikes will ensue and hopefully prevail. If not, I will not only be resigning I will be leaving this country.

Wake up everyone and notice what is occuring. Don't say "it's just a shot."
For those of you who think the vaccine is totally safe. Well, you absolutely have no proof or basis for argument. Vaccines contain harmful ingredients, thimersol, mercury containg substance and the gov't FINALLY removed thimersol from childrens vaccines. But they are still in adult vaccines. So the logic follows that the gov't finally recognize the harm with the thimersol, but for years they allowed it to remain. Every year the FDA allows drugs to be marketed only then to cause sometimes life-threatening conditions and thus be taken off the market. So if you think for a second that the FDA is all-knowing and has our best interests as their top priority, you are gravely mistaken.

Another quick note.. Nurses please stop saying "you better get your flu shot" until you know more of the risks associated (there are more risks than just allergic rxn, malaise, or sore arm). I even had a nurse practitioner tell a coworker that she better be taking her antivirals to prevent getting sick -- she meant for her to take the relenza/tamiflu continuously while exposed, which meant ALL the time, since we are nurses and always exposed. This is so ignorant and so harmful. But the mentality that we need drugs to survive is just sickening, like we've been brainwashed by hidden messages in the drug commercials! (joking.. sort of)

I hope everyone will remember what this country was founded on, the freedom from excessive gov't control that our ancestors fought for, when you allow this sort of mandate to occur. And, by doing nothing, or even lining up like cattle for the stick, you are allowing it to occur.

I've never taken the annual "regular" flu shot, and I ain't planning on taking this one. I'm working prn, so, if my employer has a big problem with that, I can just stay home and they can get along without me.

Yeah, I want to be a guinea pig for the pharmaceutical company, ..........
These people who want me to have the H1N1 shot......are they the same ones who come into my ER and cough and sneeze in my face? Are they the same ones who haven't had a shower in a month? Yeah, I sure wouldn't want to infect themBTW...I just love these smilies,can you tell?
