Threads merged and moved to the Nursing News forum.

My thoughts and well-wishes are with the families of the deceased home health employees. What a senseless tragedy for all involved.

I saw something about that on yahoo news yesterday, The psych of a person bent on mass murder and then suicide is a very complexed and dark one. It's so easy for us to call these people monsters and cowards for not just taking their own life, but these people are sick and lash out when things become to stressful, I'm talking normal everyday stressors can trigger these types of people. I just hope that our mental health system in the US takes the steps to meet this demand and catch these people before they have the opportunity to do these things.

I don't find anything that gives info indicating this. All indications so far are that this guy became angry over an argument and then blew everyone in the argument away. Sounded like more of a sudden decision until I hear differently.

No, the article didn't say that, however, there are cases when people are not coping well may have some form of a mental health crisis...how upset can one be and have homicidal and/or suicidal thoughts??? Well...

We don't really understand why people commit murder/suicide, but rationalizing that they must all have some form of mental illness is stereotyping.
