From Nurse's Aide To Crowned King

by 3rdcareerRN Premium Member

A cool story of justice:

"Nurse's Aide Receives African Coronation

For almost 25 years, Charles Wesley Mumbere, now 56, worked in Maryland and Pennsylvania as a nurse's aide. On Monday, he returned to Uganda to be crowned king of his ancestral kingdom."

This just goes to show that we must not judge persons by their job title.

Default US nurse's aide becomes a king.
How well do you know your co-workers? I've worked with my share of people that were doctors in their home countries, but never royalty - at least that i'm aware of.

Default Former nurse's aide in US becomes Ugandan king
KASESE, Uganda – For years, Charles Wesley Mumbere worked as a nurse's aide in Maryland and Pennsylvania, caring for the elderly and sick. No one there suspected that he had inherited a royal title in his African homeland when he was just 13.

On Monday, after years of political upheaval and financial struggle, Mumbere, 56, was finally crowned king of his people to the sound of drumbeats and thousands of cheering supporters wearing cloth printed with his portraits.
Wow!

I am not real comfortable with the idea that I should treat people well because they might turn out to be someone important. I treat people well because they are entitled to it because their basic human dignity demands it.

There are way to many that deserve a crown. They usually dont get the pay they deserve or the respect, sad to say. I wish I could give a great big ole Texas bear hug to all you hard working nurse assistants out there. God bless you all!!!

A very cool story! My friend was dating a man from Ghana who rode a bicycle and made his living collecting signatures on petitions at university. He is a prince. Very strange and interesting world we live in.
