    Potassium should NEVER be pushed. Ever. Period.

    It can sometime be given as a faster IV infusion if the patient is suffering symptoms from hypokalemia, but NEVER NEVER NEVER faster than a certain amount.

    I'm glad to see several people have brought this up. Even tho it was many years ago that I went to school, it was drilled into us to NEVER EVER push KCL! And our hospital eventually went to pre-mixed drips.
