Guy sounds like he is on some sort of power trip. Since when can a cop order doctors and nurses to do test or treatments? A judge can order test and treatments but I never heard of a cop doing it. I would sue also.

I am not shocked. When I worked at the county jail, I had a cop screaming at me to "stop being so f'n lazy and do my gd job" when I refused to admit an inmate with suspected broken ribs. It is the street mentality, some of these guys forget how to deal with everyday people and think they can treat everyone like criminals. That being said, 99% of the cops treated me with the utmost respect and really had my back.

I agree.

I just have to point out the irony of quoting the Dalai Lama along with advocating a good dopeslap, although I do agree with your suggestion, and the quote.

Without inner peace, it is impossible to have world peace.

When I was in nursing school and doing health education at a migrant farmworker camp I once had a police officer try to tell me I looked like a hooker they'd been trying to arrest in the vicinity. He then searched my car. Looking back, I realize he could've planted anything he wanted to in my car.

I have a good friend who's a state trooper (and a good person) but these power-hungry folks I have no time for. Were the same scenario to repeat itself now that I'm 30 instead of when I was 21, naive, and scared, you bet I'd do the same thing Ms. Hofstra did. Good for her!

Sometimes, cops think they can do whatever they want and get a way with it. I hope she get a big settlement out of this. Besided the nurses have to follow the protocol, otherwise, she get sue or the hospital get sue. So I will say, good that you stand up for this jerk.

I agree the cop was a jerk and probably should be fired.

That said, I don't think the public good is served by enriching the nurse and her lawyer at the expense of the taxpayers.

Thumbs up to firing the cop.

Thumbs down to a lawsuit or monetary judgment.
