I rather think my attitude represents what is right about this country. Some little tyrant of a minor official cannot abuse individual rights without the threat of major consequences. The state and its' agents cannot place thier egos above the law and to do so is a serious offence that will get them spanked in court. As far as earily retirement- who dosen't look forward to that!

She didn't impede this cop from doing his job. She was correct in her wanting to follow protocol. She followed proper procedure in contacting her supervisor. She deserves every penny she receives. This cop deserves to have his badge taken away. What he did to her was threaten and intimidate her, he deserves to be fired.

I'd like to respect law enforcement but sadly although I have never broken the law, I have been treated like crap by almost every cop I've ever had to talk to. They have a hard job but that's not a reason to go around treating everyone horribly. ER nurses have a really hard job too! I don't know if I could handle the drama.
According to the news story, he put her in cuffs and then told the supervisor that he'd take the charge nurse out of cuffs as soon as someone got his blood draw.

So, he didn't arrest her (PD confirmed there was no paperwork), he held her hostage until he got her way.

I know there's two sides to every story....but this side is looking pretty damning.

I find this post and your screen name amazingly ironic.

Cops and nurses should work together in harmony.. let's all use our good judgement on times like this and we should learn something from this case. For sure this won't be the last..
