Ugh, that's just disgusting on so many levels. Like getting checked out by a stranger when you're pregnant. So, so wrong. Glad the nurse reported him!

If this had been been in my delivery unit, the man would be escorted by security out of the unit and charges pressed if I had my way. (meaning if I were the victim, absolutely and if I were a coworker of the victim, I would encourage her to press charges). What a pig. Poor mom of that baby.

Given the area - Bountiful, Utah - it would not surprise me if there was more than one "wife". He may have been looking for another.

I wonder what's wrong with this woman, that she picked a guy like this to have a child with.
Maybe she was unaware.

Just a brief word in his defense, however unpopular that will make me here - sometimes when men are becoming fathers - for real, in the "right now", not during gestation but in L&D, as in like NOW - they freak out. It is pretty scary becoming a parent and some guys freak. It happens. God, how I know it happens. Not that that excuses his behavior but just by way of trying to understand why he did it.

Besides being wrong morally, legally, ethically & any other way you can name, this guy must have left his brain at the curb on garbage day. Who would think a nurse would abandon her patient and turn her attention to him, for any reason? The nurse was absolutely right to press charges and the hospital should back her 100%. The judge should throw the book at him (this is a male speaking).

Sadly, though perhaps well deserved in this situation, one NEVER lays hands on another person whilst on duty outside of proper nursing care. In the silly and perverse world we live in today the guy could and prolly would turn around and demand the nurse who slapped him be arrested for assault. Making matters worse not only would this creature now have something on the table to cause the nurse to drop her charges, he could also very well persue legal action against her and the hospital.

The police would have been picking him up off the floor! I would have found the first thing in sight and knocked him slap out!!!!

Do men really get turned on when they get freaked out by something? Should a woman about to give birth "understand" that a man might try to relieve the pressure of becoming a father by sexually violating her caretaker? Should the nurse have been more sensitive to the "stress" this man was going through and just politely request that he remove his hand from her breast?

Or should the nurse have relieved her own stress by drop-kicking this jerk in the ying yang. And if the new mother had even an ounce of self-respect, she would be cheering the nurse on.

I know in the real world, your reasoning is correct. And even though a jury in all likelihood would vote in favor of the nurse, it would be cheaper for the hospital to settle before any trial. It sends a terrible message.
