    Terrible!

Not a good idea to yell and curse at cops that are pulling you over, though.

Like said in the video, if someone was yelling and cursing at you, would you feel compelled to tie their hands behind their back and then fling them 8 feet and body slam them?

    no excuse, period.

Don't get me wrong, I am in no way defending the actions of police officers who abuse their authority. However, considering the animosity against police, as well as the fairly frequent occurrences of attacks against police, I get their fear on occasion. Personally, before coming to the US, I was told that if I was pulled over, to leave both hands on the steering wheel, make no sudden moves, speak only when spoken to, etc. Lol, maybe I am overly cautious, but Id rather not have any of the police brutality stuff happen to me :S

That's the smart thing to do.

Not get out of your car, confront them, and yell and curse at them.

Because they have trouble maintaining a professional demeanor and become physically violent? Yes, they sometimes do, as we've learned since video recording has become so widespread.

It's good advice if you don't want them to mistake you for a potential threat to them. Once someone gets into retaliation mode, having handcuffs on might not help you.

after thinking about this for awhile, I have to wonder if there is a previous relationship here. Perhaps the nurse felt she was being harrassed?

She's lucky she wasn't killed. The cops will get off; they always do.

I'm not surprised cops do that thing all the time in NYC difference is the person they body slammed isn't from the disenfranchised. If I was to body slam a patient 2x for cursing me out or hitting me (which has happend before) I would be in jail. I hope she takes them to the cleaners for every penny maybe they watch their conduct with the public.

They see, to have been trying to inflame the newsworthiness of the story by saying she was a nurse.

Yeah this happened rather close to my present abode. It's disturbing to think the culture at LAPD is such that an officer with only 10 months on the force engages in that behavior and tops it off with a celebratory high-five.

But Chief Charlie Beck is taking it very seriously.

I have serious concerns about this incident and I believe the commanding officer of Foothill area was severely deficient in his response," Beck said. "Proper steps were not taken, including appropriate notifications and the removal of the involved officers from the field. Because of these issues, I have removed him from his command and initiated downgrade procedures.
It appears the report filed by the two officers was severely at odds with what was shown on the tape.

probably, only because of the tape. Because, gasp, the victim is, gasp, female....what worth does she have?

You don't think it's an important detail? Would it have been had the victim had a lengthy violent criminal record? How about if the victim were a minister?
