Killer struggles, gasps repeatedly under new 2-drug combination

These are drugs that we give everyday, and now they're being used for executions.

Well, expect shortages of Versed and Dilaudid if those two drugs are manufactured in Europe. Many European countries ban the export of drugs commonly used for lethal injection executions.

I am going to say something very un-nurse like....I'm not sorry he suffered.
Joy Stewart, of West Alexandria, a small town in Preble County about 20 miles west of Dayton, was 30 weeks pregnant in 1989 when McGuire forcing her from the car, to rape her vaginally, sodomizing her, choking her, stabbing her, and slashed her throat so deeply that it severed both her carotid artery and jugular vein. At some point, her unborn child died, too, probably in the woods near Eaton where her body was found the next day by two hikers. The baby’s name would have been Carl, his mother’s grave marker shows.

Her husband, Kenny, committed suicide within a year after her murder.

Esme, thanks for being the first to say it. I think the concept of a pain free death for scumbags like him is a total joke.
We, a civilized people, offer civilized treatment and punishment to these creatures? Makes me sick.

Why didn't they ask a CRNA? We could have advised a cocktail with some added muscle relaxant or K+ that would have done it promptly.

I am just tired that the victims never are given a choice. I remember this case.

I'd prefer putting a bullet in his head but I suppose it's too messy to clean up. But at least ammo is manufactured in the US, one of the only things manufactured in the US.

You reflect my thoughts exactly esme. What consideration was there for the 'comfort' of the victims in this case? Their deaths were 'cruel and unusual (undeserved) punishment' - not his!

As I do procedural sedations regularly, I think I have a pretty clear idea of what this looked like. I believe it was 30mg Dilaudid and I'm not sure how much Versed.

A few sonorous respirations? Pffftt ...

If you object to the state carrying out a death sentence, fine. But to object that this one wasn't smooth enough ...

Now the killer's family is suing:

You beat me too it. I am so sick and tired of the sympathy paid to those who die via death penalty. What about the victims who suffered so much? That family was completed destroyed.
