Wow - From working in the ICU, I knew that people are so unprepared to face the reality that death takes us all. I cannot believe that he shot these people after his mother died of natural causes!!

Wow. I am appalled that this actually happened. My prayers to all of those injured, physically and emotionally. I pray for the family of those who have died. Obviously the suspect wasn't standing too firm to begin with. This is horrible.

I feel sick to my stomach after reading that article. I can't believe he got into the hospital with that gun. I feel bad that the guy lost his mother but why did he have to resort to murder to cope?..

The death toll is now up to three.

It's a miracle that these types of incidents don't happen more often. Kati, why don't you believe that he got up to the floor with a gun? Every hospital I've ever worked at is open to the public and you are free to go pretty much on any patient care area you want without restriction or scrutiny, save the intensive care units and even then, you could at least get there with a gun very easily. Is it different in other parts of the country?

What's so crazy is that the guy's mother died in 2004.

2004?...what?!?! Sorry, sometimes I forget that some hospitals are not in the inner-city like mine. We have metal detectors at all entrances.

    I am just horrified.

News reports indicate that the nurse was targeted. His murderer apparently had no trouble getting to him.

    This is very scary.
