Health Care Reform Will Not Work Without Strengthening Nursing

A good union can give a voice to those of us who are patient advocates. As a member of CNA/NNOC (Calif. Nurses Assoc/National Nurses Organizing Committee), which fought long & hard for patient-nurse ratios & continues to push for national ratios, I must say that having a strong union to give us a collective voice is a big plus. There are to many for profit (& lots of nonprofit as well) hospitals & insurance companies that put money over patient care. I have not seen or heard anything else about Obama mandating healthcare workers to join unions. I will be very skeptical until I see some proof.
