Health care discussion on C-SPAN this evening

Tonight at 7pm Eastern time, and for the two evenings after that, they will be broadcasting interviews with physicians and health care administrators. This should be very interesting - a word not commonly associated with C-SPAN.

I have to work this evening, so I'm going to tape it.

I hope its better than the last c-span I watched. The top doctors and regulating agency were ask questions regaurding the new healthcare. The doctors and other related higher up to oversee everything choose the no comment because they liked there jobs. I guess the question got deep down and dirty and the retribution to answering it would be there jobs.. The last one I just turned it off related to them only giving information we want to hear and not the real truth. I would like to hear how it comes out and if they are taking on the "no comment . " Im in process of moving and no tv. I cant wait to hear!

I've seen most of it, and have the rest on tape. So far, I have NEVER ONCE heard a "no comment" from any of the people interviewed, who included several physicians, hospital management, a CFO (who sure didn't look like most of the people you see interviewed on television - you will understand what I mean if you see her), and a Director of Nursing.

One thing that came up, over and over again, during the Q&A period was "Why can't we extend Medicare to everyone?" and they would always respond, "It sounds like a good idea, but we lose so much money on Medicare patients, the hospital would close on short order." They ALL said that Medicare only pays about 80% of what it costs to treat patients, and that's the case where I work too.
