Wow they were bold enough to show her eyes without covering them.
Yeah, and, look . . . they forgot to put her eyelashes back in after photoshop.

I'll admit it, I am obsessed with this story! What gets me is the amount of false information being spread by main stream news agencies - it is just appalling!

Just watched a segment on the news, they showed her moving her foot to her mom's command but it looked a lot more like a twitch to me.... and her toes looked horrible, lots of dark discoloring which I am sure is necrosis.

I enjoy being a part of this group of wonderful nurses and nursing students. The vast knowledge shared is amazing. Applauds to you wonderful people and the job and care that you all give in your jobs. Now I have never been thru medical schooling of any type but I can tell by looking at Jahi's MRI that that is not a normal looking brain of someone alive. The photos of her hands, feet, and toes show decomp. I wouldn't even call the movements of her hands and feet movements in all honesty. To me they look spinal. Correct me if I am wrong on that. Jahi by all means is NOT alive and this family is nuts to even think such nonsense.

Just because there are physical structures present in the brain it is not indicative that the tissue is viable or functional no matter how much you wish it to be true. It's a money grab as there is no reason they can't go back to CA aside from no one wanting to transport a vented body across the country.

I saw the video this morning (thanks to someone on my facebook friend list "liking" it, thereby causing it to appear in my newsfeed). I see no purposeful movements at all. She probably has muscle twitches all day long whether or not her mother says "move your hand" or "move your foot."
It made me wonder if someone was stimulating her off camera....it looks like posturing to me.

Just curious if any one else has been following the news. I saw it posted on the most reliable site in the world today (facebook) and apparently there the little girl Jahi who was in the news a year ago with the family fighting to keep her alive after being pronounced brain dead is now showing brain activity per MRI and is following two very basic commands.
If you read the thread...clearly we are following the news.
Thoughts? I just find it strange and curious. A simple google search shows several articles and news reports on the case as well as the video posted by family.
Our thoughts? Our thoughts are on every post...that is the subject of this thread. It might be helpful if you go back a few pages there is excellent explanations by NotReadyForPrimeTime. Girl brain dead part deux

I've found the thread, thank you! Mods can merge/close this thread if they'd like there's really no point in two discussions on the same topic. I just found it strange and was thinking also that it was some sort of twitch and not a real command. The MRI interpretation on here is amazing.

Here's the MRI-someone on the Team Jahi-a family in denial had this to say about it.

structurally it could be her and it appears that the tonsils are gone. what is more important is it appears the the brain stem has become mostly degraded, the brain it's self has shrunk considerably. The cerebellum looks like it might be calcified and the corpus callosum is missing.

Was it just me or do her feet look swollen?
