Apparently a feeding frenzy is just getting started as healthcare will merge into one too big to fail comglomerate. As one ED doc stated, since my bonus is based on patient satisfaction I'll be forced into writing endless rx for the drug seekers. Another woman asked how come no one could tell her the cost of her MRI based on what her insurance wouldn't pay. Apparently, you can go into the hospital with insurance, have surgery and stay a day or two and come out owing 15 cents, but if you get a CT as an outpatient with the same insurance you owe thousands. Future HC looks daunting.lindarn likes this.

I know this because just did it but am loathe to tick off the WSJ's copyright dogs.Couldn't read the article but the comments were entertaining. call it the united state of health care.
amid enormous pressure to cut costs, improve care and prepare for changes tied to the federal health-care overhaul, major players in the industry are staking out new ground, often blurring the lines between businesses that have traditionally been separate.
