Bit of local news from New York City.
Cabrini Medical Center, a 100 year old Catholic hospital closed their doors in 2008. This followed Saint Vincent's Midtown (formerly Saint Clare's Hospital), the year before and preceded the closings in following years of the remaining Catholic hospitals including Saint Vincent's in the West Village in 2010.
Just as with the former Saint Vincent's campus, Cabrini's campus was purchased and turned into luxury condos. Originally Sloane-Kettering had purchased the property for use as part of their expansion including outpatient care. They later changed their minds and decided wanted something closer to the main hospital's campus on the UES.
