- Jul 1, '12 by GitanoRNundoubtedly, my heart goes out to this patient and what she had to endure during her stay at this facility. however, once all the facts are gathered and the perpetrator is brought to light with dna evidence and there's absolutely no doubt that this despicable act had taken place, the patient in question should be compensated and treated for pain and suffering. having said that, i'm certain that the facility has or should revise their security monitoring of the premises in order to avoid in the future any kind of misfortune of this magnitude to their patients and staff. in addition, the facility should implement mandatory staff training regarding on how to deal with any similar situation in the future. needless to say, i'm certain if the staff would have shown more support towards this victim, she wouldn't have felt compelled to sue the facility in question. unquestionably, what makes me ponder even further regarding this case is once the perpetrator was apprehended he only received a slap on the wrist and let go, what kind of a message are we as a society sending to those future delinquents out there? it just leaves me puzzled! to where our priorities lay....just saying.lindarn likes this.

- Jul 2, '12 by elkparkSounds to me like she's drumming up support for a big fat payday when her lawsuit goes to court. Isn't the Daily News the most tabloid-ish of the NYC newspapers? What's with the "heinous crime" and "marauding psych patient" -- rather yellow journalism, IMHO.
