I watched this on 60 Minutes last Sunday, and I remain absolutely horrified at the level of corruption in our government. Shame on you and shame on us for allowing it to continue.

We (that means you!) CAN do something about government corruption! There are numerous groups out there working against it.

One is DownsizeDC.org. You can be as minimal as a PC-potato activist and send emails to your congressmen and senators! Phone calls are even better.

People power can easily out number lobbyist power if enough people would just simply speak out. I send emails to my congressional reps frequently and receive emails and snail mail in return....so I know they do listen to the people. And remember, the masses do the voting.

We can also refuse to purchase brand names and buy generics. And write to your reps in washington.

I am not sure why you are surprised, the american way is the almighty dollar$$$$, that is what keeps this country going. We elect people to represent us and they immediately are tainted by the old guard and begin tp go where the money and support is. We citizens sit back and are lulled by the media that is also in bed with the money and pretend that our issues, rising health care costs, HMO's dictating which, if any drugs they will pay for and the slow erosiong of the patient and phsyician's impact on saving the individual's life is just a momentary hiccup. We do nothing but feign surprise. It is and continues to be "business" as usual here in america for all of us.
