I lost a bet though. Bet was that the BoSox would have a better reg. season. Man. I was wrong. I called it, Boston not getting far into the playoffs. Didn't think it would be because they didn't make it at all though.

Lots of people go to the ER because they are under the impression the ER doctors are the better doctors. The pecking order according to many is: 1. ER doc, 2. Surgeons, 3. All other hospital doctors, 4. PCPs (they run out of their office cause they can't hack it in the hospital).

Thats what they believe. Maybe it comes from television, IDK.
Not to belittle emergency docs...but, sounds like WAY too much TV for these folks. What do they say about FU with office docs???

What about educating the PCP's offices about proper use of the ER?
About 8 years ago, I fell down some stairs and sprained my left foot badly. It was after 5, so I waited until the next morning to call my PCP. She told me to go to the ER for an x-ray. I was very surprised that they didn't do them in the office.

When I was an ED volunteer, I encountered quit a few patients who came in for x-rays, MRIs, and CT scans. Why don't their PCPs send them to imaging centers or outpatient clinics?
