China reports new cases of SARS for the first time in months

  1. 0 The patient in Beijing, a 20-year-old nurse, was quarantined in a hospital and examined by experts from China's Health Ministry, the government's Xinhua news agency reported.

    She reported fever, cough and trembling on April 5 and was hospitalized two days later, but was only confirmed as a suspected SARS case Thursday, it said. She has been in intensive care since April 14.

    Actually she got ill taking care of two technicians from a lab that were doing research on the SARS virus. Her mother passed away quite recently and they are under the impression that she died of SARS but are waiting for final test results.
