  1. This is particularly upsetting to me, and no doubt the countless other students who are PANICING afraid that they WON'T EVEN GET IN.

These students should think really hard about the honest students who are waiting to get in so they can jump into a career that they are excited about- and excited about doing RIGHT.

  2. Yeah, then there's the whole "If I become a GOOD nurse because I STUDIED, I am not going to want to FIX YOUR MISTAKES" thing.

They should have been expelled and barred from enrolling in any other nursing programs in there state. Cheating should not be toleratred NO matter what this is extremely dangerous if they were actually graduated and practicing nurses, they would probably try to cut corners again and put a patients life at risk!!!! The university made a huge mistake by letting them re enroll into the program !!!! And even let them take the exam AGAIN and graduate .... a zero tolerance Ethics Code should be a adminstered. Not to mention there fellow nursing students who did the right thing by studying and applying themselves , how do you think they feel........this is absoluletly rediculous!!!!!:trout:
Another example of the "New Tolerance" that weakens our laws.

are people that have these morals and values going to change after they graduate by cheating? i think not. pc cr.p just burns me to a crisp. we are subdued at every turn. do you realize what a suppressed people we are? why don't they call that filthy howard stern on his political correctness. why is a part of the population sanctioned for not being pc, and another part is allowed. sorry i'm retarded.

I also believe nurses who sell drugs in their nursing class, are approached by dealers and refuse to say who they are and brag about it later are unreliable and a hazard to all they are to care for. I think drug screening should be mandatory for all nursing students prior to entry, and randomly through out college. This would certainy benefit older nurses who sadly shake their head at this behavior who work along side them, and any patients meds who they cant be trusted with.
That's what my program did. Your hair gets clipped for drug testing before entry and at the beginning of each semester. Needless to say, a lot of us were feeling kind of pokey on our heads after so many trimmings! :chuckle

  7. As an RN student who has worked my @ss off, I would be furious to find out these students were not expelled.

Some people in my LVN to RN class tried to cheat during the transition course. They didn't make it anyway. One person tried to cheat off me and I confronted him. He failed the class.

Nurses are supposed to have a high level of ethics. IMHO a certain level of ethics must be naturally within you, it's not something you can "learn." If one's cheating on the tests, they already lack the ethics that they as future nurses should have.

  8. maybe the university of toledo should adopt these guide lines it would certainly make room for the nurses who are waiting to get in.

  9. That makes me soooo mad!! I study soooooo hard!!
But then, I would never cheat anyway. I want to know that I KNOW what I'm doing. It's like basic cr*p your mother should have taught you when you were in primary school! You only cheat yourself!! But as a nurse you may end up cheating a patient because you skipped some knowledge and that is unethical and unacceptable. I plan on taking my license and my responsibility VERY SERIOUSLY.

The school should be ashamed and the cheaters - well they're just losers. Total losers.

This is outrageous! I can't believe they are allowed to graduate! I live in Houston (but attend another school thank god!) and I may have to work with these cheaters in the future! I am so outraged that all they get is a slap on the hand and still get to go out there and have lives in their hands. At my school you have to go before a panel and plead your case to get reaccepted if you fail once. Fail twice and you're out for good. I can't believe they are just going to let them waltz back into the program like nothing happened when there are so many good honest people trying to get a spot in a nursing program! Absolutely horrifying!
I just can't express my outrage. This is not an isolated incident! The mores of our country are going down the drain. I don't mean to sound like an alarmist, because what would we do without the other good, kind and law abiding people, nurses? Maybe I will just stick my head in the sand. Just kidding.
