Navy Nurse Corps: Celebrating 96 Years of Excellence
The mission of the Navy is to "maintain, train and equip combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas" (Navy Organization, 2001). The primary goal of the Navy Medical Department is to manage the health of sailors and marines; and their families during peace and wartime missions. Nurses have an important role in achieving the primary goal of the Navy Medical Department.
