Angry nurses call 24-hour strike - Australia

NURSES at the Launceston General Hospital will strike for 24 hours on Wednesday next week, heralding state-wide industrial action over a long-running workplace-reform dispute.

Colleagues in the North West and South will meet during the next two days and have threatened to follow suit if the State Government refuses to negotiate over their bid for on-call allowances, provision of uniforms and more professional-development opportunities.
