We are all entitled to our opinions.
Which is what I've been trying to point out since you mentioned that nurses who disagree with the ANA statement needed to rethink their career choice and maybe think about becoming lawyers.

I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinions - I don't think it is right to question the intelligence of those who state their opinions. That's all.

Please remember to debate the SUBJECT. Name calling gets us nowhere.

The Mod Team thanks you to remember Aretha Franklins song:

Karen - thanks. I actually agree with that statement. If this case gets people to make plans, all the better.

Life and Death are natural processes...there we agree. Murder is not a natural process.
You do not honestly believe that she was murdered do you. This should of happened 15 years ago. I am not sure what took so long. I personally would not have wanted to live that way, and from what I can tell neither did she. Who are we to question what she told her husband. Just make sure your house is in order, and the lord will take care of the rest. She is in a much better place.

DeeBeeRN has an agenda...first 3 posts to allnurses all inflammatory and provocative....hmmmm
Re: your abusive judgment and criticism of my leap into this arena of discussion...who do you think you are? If you have something to say regarding the subject then say it. My opinion is that Theresa Marie Schindler-Schiavo was murdered and I stand by my opinion. If you don't like my opinion...fine, I do not care but I care when you are abusive verbally (either covertly or overtly) and you step over the boundry line. It is at this point that I will ask you, oh so kindly at first, to take a step back. So, sbic56, step back... you've crossed over the line.

Please clarify what you mean by the "not the poster but the idea?" I'm sure others will jump in here but I'm really interested from this author's perspective.
    Thank you

So the AMA's stance is that they aren't taking a stance.

i would have to agree with the ana's statement, although they too do it for political gain. the fact is that the government has no "ethical" or legal right to interfere with the personal decisions of two married persons. the courts acted appropriately in upholding the law. if the fl and the us congress don't want a person being able to make decisions[font='times new roman'] for their spouse then maybe they should change the law.

i've heard of many people who specify no feeding tubes in their ads. the state of florida considers a feeding tube a form of life support.

ps: did they release the results of the autopsy?

Not that I've heard. Initial estimate was two weeks from autopsy.
