This is true. While I voted NO on a recall of Davis (just let his term run out) and DID NOT vote for Arnold, when all was said and done I thought to myself, how bad can it be? He's married to a Kennedy after all, and the family and his Democrat wife must have some influence on him.

    Boy was I wrong.
    Me too.

    I've often wondered ... Where's Maria?

He called my house during the election . . .taped of course.

I didn't vote for him - I voted for Tom McClintock.

I got those taped calls from Feinstein and Boxer, asking me to vote no to the recall. It was cute, too, because I was out in the garage and my son came running out to tell me excitedly, "Mom, Barbara Boxer is on the phone!"

It was pretty funny to hear Arnold's accented voice on the phone. Usually I just hang up when those automated calls come on but I did listen to him.

    Just didn't vote for him.

A colleague of mine had a Kennedy fellowship a few years ago. She worked closely with Eunice Shriver on several projects. When Ahnie was proposing to cap enrollment on the CA Early Start early intervention program for children with developemtnal disabilities (thus eliminating many children's chances to receive the services, since by the time the spaces taken by their peers open up, they'll have aged out of the program), this woman called Eunice and asked to appeal to Ahnie. This was right after he was elected. I have no idea if she did, but Ahnie did take that idea off the table (so far, that is).

Absolutely. Where the heck is the first lady of this state?

What exactly does she do? What is her role? Does her opinion carry any weight in anything at all? And just what is her opinion?

Is she the good little wife to her sexist husband and that's it?

    I wonder too.

I still can't believe this bozo is our Governor. Can I mention again that I didn't vote for him? That's a badge of honor for me!

I guess she is still making her rounds on the talk shows... I have seen her on Oprah, the View, and a few others.... I think there was a book in the works as well. What she wrote about is beyond me... "so I married an idiot"..."oh wait, maybe I'm the idiot for marrying the idiot".... I certainly don't believe she is doing the true "1st wife" agenda.... Last time I saw her she looked a little on the anorexic side!!!

I would have set my answering machine on fire if either one of them left a message on it

I love her! I got to meet her in D.C. in February. Same trip on which I accidentally crashed Howard Dean's celebration party after he accepted the nomination to head the DNP. Soooooooo... I'm guessing that trip wouldn't have held the same appeal for you three as it did for me???
