"Hospice nurse accused of selling heroin out of patients' homes"

  1. I saw this on my local news this evening: http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/l...elling-heroin/

I cannot find a person by this name in the Massachusetts nursing license database. There is a nurse with the same first and last name (different middle name) but she lives nowhere near where this nurse lives. I honestly doubt that this person is a nurse. The news stated that she required an interpreter in court to understand the charges against her. I've never known a nurse to be able to function in MA without English proficiency. WHDH's facebook page does not allow posts on their timeline... I will be emailing them to express my dismay.

I'm guessing probably a tech or caregiver that the media labeled as nurse. The language thing would make me think that.

The media's accuracy in these situations is sketchy at best. Remember everyone being up in arms over the "nurse" in CA who wouldn't perform CPR on the assisted living facility resident despite the dispatcher begging her to? Yeah, turns out she wasn't a nurse at all...

Heroin isn't legal even by prescription, so it wasn't from a patient supply. She's dumber than a stump if she's dealing on duty.

I noticed that earlier too. I went to find the link to show my co-workers and I could find it in the Google News section but then when I clicked it it wasn't there. I emailed them. Haven't heard from anyone. This isn't the first time I've emailed 7News about something like this.

Love the proactive steps you all take to keep non-medical people from thinking everyone in scrubs is a nurse!!! You all are awesome

There are still a few sites running the story, including one run by some state police in MA. I told them to do their research.

You can still see the original video here: Hospice Nurse Accused of Selling Heroin at Her Patients' Homes in Malden - Police & Fire - Malden, MA Patch

They only referred to her as "this nurse" about 15 times in a 2 min clip.
