by afrobuddhess Jul 23, '12Hi there---
I am a former Public School teacher turned Nurse. With the economy being how it is, taking a job as a school nurse seemed like a great alternative to the stagnant job market.
I have been in a position for over 6 months, and have still be unable to land a job as a floor nurse in a hospital setting.
My question is, will I still be a decent candidate for floor nursing jobs in the future if my only (and first) nursing experience was in schools? Would you give me an interview, or would I be looked at as an "old grad" or "out-of-practice" RN because my skill set and scope is different?
Thanks for your insight!
