We're in the midst of a "reduction in workforce" -- which is just another way of saying that they are eliminating a bunch of positions. They haven't gotten rid of bedside RN's, but a lot of managers, people in ancillary services, and advanced practice positions have been eliminated. Also eliminated were a lot of CNA positions, equipment techs, secretaries, etc. That means that those who remain will have to pick up the work once done by these folks.
Also, they have reduced the amount they used to contribute to our retirement and reduced the amount of sick time we earn. Who knows what other reductions are coming? I don't want to find out.
