Baylor Anyone

Our facility is a teaching hospital for Baylor. I'm not sure if this is the same as the Baylor program. Our surgical residents work 24on, 24off for a month. The surgical chief works the same, except for 3 months. The Baylor medicine docs work 12 on 12 off and alternate weekends. The attendings work differently on some schedule that seems to change week to week. It is a lot harder on the surgical docs. They can barely keep their eyes open. At the end of their shifts, they must stay until everone in their area (EC) has a disposition. It is hard on them, but it sure helps move people faster.

I have some familiarity with the Baylor weekend option or Baylor Plan as it's also known. Specificaly, what are your questions? I used to work for Baylor...and have also worked at hospitals where they do the 7 on and 7 off plans as well.

I just took a Baylor... well it is called "weekend option". 6a - 6p every Sat and Sun. Should work out great for school.

You're right...this type of schedule goes very well with school. As an undergrad, this was the only way I could meet the obligations for school(without it taking 15 million years) and fill the financial need to work full time. Best of luck to you! ;-)

How would you find out any information about the Baylor Plan or weekend work or any hospitals that participate in the plan? I can't find much on the net right now..... help!

I've been working 7p-7a every sat and sun sicne January. I get paid 36 hours for it. At my facility they took out weekend and shift diff away from us if we work the weekend option. So I did lose some money going to weekends, but it was great this summer while the kids were on break.

can anyone tell how much they pay for Baylor program approximately in New Jersey ? Because some of them dont want to pay for 36 hr or 40hr when you work two shifts 12hr. In one place they offered to pay $33 for 30 hr, when you actually work 24 hr. I heard that Baylor program consist of base salary plus $12 /hr. is it true? Someone, please ?
