I work at downtown Baylor, well in nursing management books it called Baylor Plan, But systemwide at Baylor its called TDA(Two Day Alternative) schedule wherein you will only work for saturday and sunday and get paid as full time same benefits and same salary of those who work on weekdays or nights. Some managers permit just friday and saturday, depends with the staffing need of the floor.

You are not required to work during the week anymore but you can pick up time if you want. Great for parents who has kids, and nurses or techs who are in school, and for those who like to pick up another P/T or regular job during the week.

The downside is you got no life. Parties, concerts, church, superbowl, fun, etc happen on weekends. PTO sucks too because you only work 2 days and that would only give you 4hrs of PTO per paycheck but if you accumulate 24hrs of PTO thats like 2 weeks vacation already.

This is how they compute our pay...

Your regular pay + weekend differential + TDA differential = your salary
*shift differentials not yet included.

Do all Baylor programs include full benefits? Are there any catches? This would be ideal for me (especially since I wouldn't have to worry about 1 on, 1 off, 1 on etc. messing up my sleep pattern) but I feel like it's almost TOO good to be true. I would prefer weekends by far to weekdays.

Do all areas of nursing usually apply (like NICU)?

I'd appreciate any help regarding this! Thanks in advance!

depends on the facility....some facilities offer it, some do not, and in the facilities that do offer, some depts do, some don't. It all boils down to budgeting. And many times, the spots are coveted and much competed for
