Re: Assisted living-RN. manager ?
It depends on your location, the company/facility, and the level of responsibility you would carry. My experience as a DON in assisted living was almost as much about being an assistant administrator as a nurse; my salary was commensurate with the expectations, but it was also 24/7 responsibility---I was on-call for a solid three years, which meant my time 'off' was never totally my own. Plus, these positions are almost always salaried, which often means putting in 60 hours a week and getting paid for 40. But if you're prepared for that, it's not a bad way to make a living, especially if you get in with a good company.
Good luck to you!
