Wish me luck!!

After a few years of putting it off, I decided to suck it up and send in my declaratory order to the Texas BNE to see if I can apply to nursing school. Wish me luck!!! I'm probably going to need it!!!

Thank you for your reply. I sent off my paperwork last Tuesday, and I have to wait 10 days to get fingerprinted, so I have another week to wait. Ugh! It's driving me nuts already! I figure just to make myself feel better I'm going to call them today and see if they can tell me they received it. lol Probably don't need to do this, but what can it hurt right? I will update as I know!

Well I called the BON yesterday and they did receive my paperwork, so I went ahead and did the fingerprint cards and sent them off to Austin yesterday afternoon. So now it's just hurry up and wait. From the looks of the website the next Committee meeting is June 9th. Hopefully my background checks and stuff will be done by then and maybe they will include me in that one. If not they don't meet again until August. Luckily, since I'm starting A & P in the fall I ordered some books on Amazon to jumpstart my studying so maybe I can take my mind off this for a little while. The suspense is killing me! lol

Good Luck to you, I really have my fingers crossed for you. I am kinda in similar situation in that I have been accepted to NS and I have something on record(I think). So what I did is I went to nrsing BON TX and found the people they use for electronic finger prints and crim. check. I went there and paid 9.95 and 14.95, for my own criminal check to be mailed to me. I want to know exactly what is showing up, to make sure I send enough info. for the declaratory order. I have some traffic tickets misd. c and I read we do not have to include those, but if they show up I think I will. I have one misd. B, I think, from when I was arrested for not leaving my ex husbands house right after our divorce. We were married 10 yrs. and I went over to the house, I did not take half from him so he retained all assets. He let me in to gather some of my things and he refused to let me take something, I think it was pictures, anyway I started crying and he said to leave but I was so upset I just sat on the sofa crying he called police and they warned, please leave or we will be forced to arrest, well, I did not leave. Ex husband said he would write a letter to include in decl. order and have it notarized stating that I have apologized to him and that it was an emotional mistake and so on. Sorry I went on and on. Please, let me know how decl board goes for you, I will submit mine around first of July. Take Care!!

Just a quick update. I called the BON today and they said they received my fingerprint cards on June 2nd and my background check results came back to them June 8th. So now I'm just waiting for the board to review and approve. The wait is killing me but hopefully I won't have to wait much longer. I will post again whenever I receive any news. Thanks to all who have wished me luck!

Love I got my letter today!!!!!
Yep, that's right! And they approved me!!!! So now my next hurdle is getting through the rest of my pre-reqs and into nursing school!!!! One hurdle down, many more to go!!! But this freakin ROCKS!! I am so happy I could scream. My 5 month old was looking at me like I was crazy a few minutes ago because I was jumping around the house lol. I am so excited!!! I realize that it's just the first step, but now I feel like I really can accomplish this goal!!! Good luck to everyone else who may have to go through the process I did. I hope it turns out as good for you as it did for me!!!!! nbch:
