Waiting for BVNPT to make a decision

Nurses Criminal

I took and passed the NCLEX-PN Aug 2010. Got a letter stating my application will go to enforcement two weeeks after I took the test and got my letter that I passed three weeks after the test. I am currently still waiting for the BVNPT to make a decision on my application. My offense was 14 or 15 years ago misdemenour petty theft and bad checks. I was young and dumb. Anyway I am still waiting to hear from them and I have called, emailed and all I keep getting is all cases are different and we can't give you a time. I was told up to 60 days then several more weeks, and it is just very frustrating. I really need to start looking for a job. Why is the board so secretive and allusive about this process. I understand each case is different but if your working on my case can't you speak on my case. I am also told they are understaffed and are very busy, I get that too but I just can't see why its taking this long I did a background check to get into nursing school. I did live scan to take the test and I wrote about what my violations were. What more do they need. I just would like to know one way or the other so I can move onward with my life. This really sucks. Anyone else out there in my situation or have some advise?:crying2:

Specializes in Dialysis.

Anyone who has a record out there, will be held up for months!

So the best thing to do before you take the exam is handle your business, and get what ever you have " EXPUNDGE".

Mine can't be expundged. I live in TN. TN is very hard on people who have commited crimes. It is nearly impossible to get an expundgement. I have tried with 2 lawyers.
