Shoplifting misdemeanor reduced to trespass misdemeanor.

Hello all, I am about to graduate from CSUSB and going to receive my degree in Public Health. I have been volunteering at a hospital for 5 years now and I want to apply to Nursing School.
I was caught shoplifting at a JCPenny, biggest mistake of my life. Realizing the severity of the circumstances I consulted an attorney who helped me reduce my conviction to Trespass 602k instead of Petty Theft, I am now in the process of having this conviction expunged.
My problem is that I want to complete my BSN at a school and eventually work the hospital where I am currently a volunteer at. has anyone tried to attend school with a similar situation?
Also what are the chances of my license being denied?
