LPN/LVN Endorsement in state of TX

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hello all,

I am curious if there are any fellow nurses who have gone through the same/similar experience. I am an LPN in the state of Oklahoma, practicing with an unrestricted license (no discipline or bad marks). I was licensed last year (1/11/13) after completing nursing school in December of 2012. I have a criminal record consisting of misdemeanors that were deferred. No felony convictions. Though it took a bit longer to obtain permission to sit for my boards than my peers with no criminal record, I was able to test, passed and was issued my LPN license. I have had 2 Nursing Jobs, here in Oklahoma, where my background was not an issue. I am desiring to move to Fort Worth, Texas and am currently waiting for word back from the Texas BON regarding my application for endorsement. I have read a lot of threads written by nurses recounting tales of being granted licenses with stipulations, etc. My question is: Have any of you been licensed in one state, with no issues, and despite a long waiting period to get endorsed, finally received endorsement in another state with no restrictions/board orders/stipulations? I hope this makes sense. If you desire any clarification in order to better answer my question, please let me know. Thank you in advance. :)
