Getting a job after being approved for licensure with a criminal background

Nurses Criminal

Published

I was able to get my license with a stipulation, however, I am having a very hard time getting a job. Will I ever get a job? Should I get extra certificates to help for example the ACLS?

It may be the economy, not your criminal history..... or it can be the stip on your license. If you cannot pass narcs, for example, then you will cause issues on the floor. Too many out of work new grads to go for one with stips.

What is the stip?

You may have to look for nursing positions that don't involve patient care.....

The stipulation is for one year basically I have to be under supervision under a nurse for a year; however, the nurse does not have to be in the same floor as long as she/he is in the facility. I cannot work home health until the stip is over and I have to be drug tested which is not a problem, I don't do any drugs. I guess it's just that I have never had a problem looking for a job and now it seems like I can't get a job I really like and would enjoy. I do work but not as Nurse. Do you think if I get by BSN or any other certificates it would be easier?

Godisgood.... How did it go finding a job. I have to be on tpapn and do all the same stuff. Was curious since I graduTe in 8 days

At each facility you apply to make sure that you go in and talk with department managers and sell yourself. With the economy as hard as it is you really have to make yourself stand out among all the other applicants.
