completed probation before judgment for DUI - now what?

Hi. I was arrested for a DUI last March due to Klonopin misuse. They drew a blood test and obviously, I tested positive for benzos. I failed the sobriety test. I had my driver's license revoked.

At my hearing last May, I spoke with the public defender and they recommended that I apply for PBJ/probation before judgment. I was assigned to attend and complete an 18-hour drug and alcohol course, which I did. I am eligible to re-apply for my driver's license.

I am looking at travel Nursing Jobs but am worried that my background check will come up dirt if I apply for nursing license endorsement in another state and I'll be denied. I know I should just call up the BON but I'm wondering if anyone else has been through this before?

I live in NY and here you can mail $50 with fingerprints to somewhere in the state capital to obtain a copy of your records. I would start here to see for certain what you're dealing with.

Unfortunately, if you apply in another state, you wll most likely have to start over, with their program for your drug conviction, before you can get a license, and in most places now it will be restricted or probationary for a period of time, which means there is little chance of a travel company hiring you. It will also cost you many thousand$ to go through the process in any state. In the new digital world, I can assure you that your arrest is in at least 20 databases that I am aware of, and there is 'no' chance, none, that your background will not be found out. I would advise anyone not to even think for a second not to reveal your background upfront, there is no way around it. I'll add this caveat- though: Being denied a license, or having it revoked, etc. is not usually a lifetime thing- some states (AZ as an example) allow you to reapply after 5 years after your license is revoked. Maybe with so many nurses with impiared licenses, and the so-called shortage, and the explosion in old people, and Obamacare adding millions to health care, maybe BONs may re-examine their harsh penalties? Who knows.

I was accepted into two nursing programs in New York. I will attend the one closer to where i live for financial reasons but after today i been very anxious three years ago i was charged with dwi was reduced to dwai which is consider a traffic violation and im freaking out. I don't know what to do...will they dismiss me from the program once they get my results back . ...When i go for my fingerprints???? Anyone help out here.
