Where do you post your resume/search for work?

Hi there! I'm looking for work and I'm just wondering what the best places to search are? Is Monster, CareerBuilders, AbsolutelyHealthcare, (or something else) better?

Also, do you recommend me posting my resume to these websites or is it better to email specific company job postings instead?

I posted my resume on Career Builders and got a couple emails and calls regarding positions. All though I wasnt interested in them it was still some type of bite from potential employers.
