one state license, applying to different states for jobs, is that possible?

Nurses Job Hunt

I am at my 9 month mark, soo approaching my 1 year experience. I have been applying to hospitals. Is it possible to apply for hospitals that you dont have your RN license in, then work towards getting a license in that state? For example, you have a FL license but applying to hospitals in texas, while you still have your FL. license, and start the process of getting a license for tx.

I need help, and I have been applying to hospitals in my state, and I feel less luck.

Thanks

Yes. I was an RN working in NY with only a NY license when my fiance and I decided we wanted to move to MD (his family is here.) I started applying for jobs in MD in January/February of this year, and started the process of endorsing my MD license at the same time. When I went on interviews in March, I told prospective employers that I was "in the process of endorsing" my MD license and gave them my unencumbered NY license number to look up. I got three job offers and was able to get my temporary license in time to start working, and my license came through in MD just before I moved here (in April.) I would suggest starting to apply for endorsement at least 3 months before you plan to start working in another state, because the process can be time consuming.

Thanks so much for responding to me. and providing some advice. I appreciate it so much.
