Specializes in Peds Homecare.

I know that many of you have been searching in vane for jobs, well. Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY is advertising for Registered Nurses and Graduate Nurses. Don't know if any of you job seekers live close enough, but I thought I'd pass it on. They are having an open house on Wednesday, December 7th, from 2-6pm. Hope someone gets hired.:yeah:

Specializes in Critical Care.

You are so sweet to post this for all of us. The job market is still very tough here on the West Coast. How is the job market over there? Is it still tight too?

Thanks for posting :)

For some reason Central New York, seems to have lots of jobs, RN, LPN, CNA's. I know that when the grads were done with Nursing School, the paper did an article and all of them had jobs.

I live in Oregon and I graduated in Aug. Some of my classmates haven't even had a job interview yet. I'm still looking and waiting to hear back from my interview I had a little over a week ago. So hard right now...and there is no way I can move anywhere right now.

Specializes in Maternity.

Very true OP!! I had hardly any luck in upstate ny but recently landed a job in central ny on my dream unit!! I encourage ny grads to look in central parts of ny. I still can't believe I'm a maternity nurse!!!

Central New York also has a lot of snow :) That's something people have to decide whether they can handle living with.

Seriously: my sister went to Syracuse and I heard all the snow horror stories. I've lived in the Southern Tier and had my fair share of snow too.

Then she moved to Buffalo, and their winters made Syracuse's and the Tier's seem mild by comparison.

I have a NY license and have applied for jobs all over NYS. I had interviews at Strong Memorial a long time ago and since then haven't had any luck anywhere else. Upstate university hospital in Syracuse seems to post a lot of positions, but I just got rejection letters. Maybe Crouse is more open to new grads. I read another post that said central NY has a lot of jobs. I'm just wondering what cities in central NY seem to be hiring new grads?

Wanted to let you all know that if you are willing to drive a bit south, Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA is hiring. They are also giving signing bonuses, which I know is absolutely unheard of these days. We are a VERY busy level 2 trauma center. (#1 in patient care in PA, Magnet, top 50 cardio) We are hiring in the ICU... Our HR contact's name is Becky Frisbee and here is the number to hr: 570-887-4401.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me. Good luck on your job searches in the area!
