Job Fairs is it worth it??

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I am wondering if I should go to this hospital's job fair next week. It is for experience nurses and I already have two years of working med/surg. I want to go into maternal/child nursing but not sure if I go to this job fair will I get a offer for a position in that area. Should I go and see or just keep searching through job postings? Are job fairs worth to go to? Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

I'm still a nursing student but what's the worst that could happen if you went?

Even if you don't get an interview, you get some networking and you can find out what they are looking for in their nurses,

Jobs fairs are a great place for networking, if anything.

What's the harm in just going? If you're interested, go and put yourself out there. If they don't have anything immediate, they may in the future. Then you can follow up with a thank you note and say you wanted to touch base, etc etc. If you're going to look through postings you may as well go to fairs. Can't hurt. Good luck to you!

Yes. They are very helpful. Take several resumes, and make sure they are good to go. I'm curious as to why you would think it would not be worth it.

Job fairs, in my experience, have been extremely useful. A facility that is typically holding a job fair is in need of a large number of nurses. You get to have face to face contact with recruiters and managers. All positive stuff....go for it!!
