Help with Marion County Jail Pre-employment Questionnaire

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hi,

I recently found out that I have been selected to go forward into the next phase of the hiring process with Marion County Jail in Salem, OR. They'd like me to come to take some pre-employment questionnaires. Any nurses know what these questionnaires would have on them or be about? Any and all help is appreciated!

Did you ever find out anything about the position with Marion county? I just submitted my application yesterday. When you applied how long did it take for you to hear something? Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Yes I actually had an interview last week. I think I applied back in October 201201r then got an email in mid December to take the pre employment questionnaires in January. They gave me an appointment date. Then 2 weeks later I had an interview. Still waiting to hear back.

I hope it works out for you! Let me know how things go. :)

Thank you and will do! Darn autocorrect... meant to say October 2013.. I just got a probationary employment offer from them along with a big background check packet that I have to complete before they can officially offer me a position. I actually have accepted an offer with Oregon State Hospital (mental hospital) about a week ago, so I'm not sure if I will accept the offer at the jail if it is given to me. I guess I'll have to compare and contrast each one to figure it out. I was never expecting this. Have you heard back from them yet? If you are still looking for a job in Oregon, try Oregon State Hospital. They are hiring a lot!

Hey amarie14, I saw that you recently mentioned that you accepted an offer from Oregon State Hospital. I recently applied and when I went back to check on my application, it had a section to "set up an exam". Since you have recently gone through the application process, can you tell me what this refers to? I wasn't sure if it meant an interview or if I am really going in to take an exam.

Thanks a bunch!!

Hi there it means to schedule your interview. Sign in to your accounta and pick your date and time. Best wishes and good luck :)

Make sure you check your email to see if they sent you an instructions to schedule your interview and other info about it.

The jail offered me one of the 2 full Tim positions they had. I didnt accept but asked to do per diem/temp instead. I start at OSH on Mar 3. It would take another month for them to finish the background check and I just cant wait another month to work. I asked if I could do per diem and temp work instead in between my work days at my other job and they were totally fine with that.

Thank you amarie14! Awesome, that is what I was hoping. I have been out of school for a little over a year and put my search for a nursing job on hold, so this is my first interview since I recently started applying. Do you have any interview advice? One of my previous classmates who worked there said to know common drugs/side effects for mental health pts, and that they will ask about experience I have delegating, since sometimes you function as charge nurse on the floor. Did you need to bring anything with you? Because I haven't received an email from them.

Thank you again for your help!

Hi that's wonderful. Email me at [email protected] and I'll help you with everything you need to know :)

Hey guys :) I'm a student at University of Washington. I'll be heading back to Oregon for the summer before I head to India for a nursing study abroad program. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to shadow you? Or if you know of any opportunities where I can gain experience? Thanks so much! :)
