Hey y'all! I was wondering if anyone else was applying to jobs in the Dallas area for February 2018 start date? What places are y'all applying and have y'all heard back from any of them?

For THR- They look at everything, the essay you wrote, work and clinical experience, GPA, well rounded candidate (in organizations, volunteer work, etc). It just not one particular thing, they also use the preference form as a guide to place you in the right position for you or for your intended career path. They should start sending invites this week, I think Ft. Worth is the first location they are doing interviews for from what I have seen. They send invites to interview like a week or more in advance and they interview by location not specialty. For each open position on a unit they interview about 5-7 candidates. They interview from Oct 24- Nov 17.

I don't know when methodist or parkland starts, I don't even think either one of them have put up all their open positions yet either. parkland told me they put the positions up as they become available, whatever that means. And methodist said it should be middle of october. So if they haven't even got all the positions up, then who knows when they will start interviewing. But I know Parkland is usually pretty slow.

I was told the same thing from Parkland, guess thats why one of mine has been sitting there looking at me since last month lol, I did apply for a few with Methodist but it is a very slow progression like one is in the active part has been for about 3 weeks. Really do hope that out of all the ones applied for THR that I can match up with something, I have a few in at Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Plano, Cleburne. Did you apply to any of the specialities offered?

Yeah I wouldn't start worrying about hearing from methodist and parkland until end of the month or early november honestly. And I am sure will match up with something! I have some at all those locations too. And I applied mostly for women's positions, which is what my first preference is. I have a couple ED (my second choice), and med surg (which is my last resort).

How was the 2nd nursing interview at JPS? I have mine at medsurg floor tomorrow. Kinda nervous again since its my top choice.

How was the 2nd interview at Jps? I have mine at medsurg tomorrow and I am nervous since it is my 1st choice. Since we alreasy had a first interview idk what to expect abt the 2nd one :) . I hears Jps is $27 starting but im not so sure

Yes I did! NICU was my first choice. I am currently an adult ICU RN wanting to switch and I finally am able to!

Did anyone interview with UTSW for February 2018 residency?

I interviewed for UTSW on Friday and am still waiting to hear back. I also interviewed for Med City Dallas (ICU), and Harris Methodist (Trauma), today, and then go back there tomorrow for an interview in the Neuro ICU. I received an invite from Parkland to interview for the ED, and then another invite for the Parkland Neuro ICU and both of those interview in November. Phew!!! This is exhausting....I turned down the Med City Denton position that was offered...so hopefully one of these places will PLEASE freaking hire me so I can stop applying for jobs lol!
