I interviewed at a holistic medical treatment facility in California which patients come in on a routine basis to receive vitamins by IV.
They had an LVN who was unreliable with her attendances, but have not found a back up.
medical assistants have been starting, infusing, and disconnecting the IV.
My understanding is that MA's cannot give medications by IV, and I believe this also applies to "natural" preparations and vitamins also.
I strongly feel that an LVN should be there to prep, administer, record, and DC.
Isn't it illegal otherwise?
