Helpful, safe, resources ? for Advocates, please

Has this already, previously, been addressed to this depth ? -

Questions:

a) In caring for vulnerable individuals, the 1st. Law must be: "1st. do NO harm", right ?

b) *Advocate* healthcare-workers continue being 'descriminated/retaliated' against. Both of these responses are "immoral, plus illegal", true ?

c) What *free* community resources are available to the above healthcare-workers ?, (those finding themselves being descriminated/retaliated against - simply for Advocating for vulnerable individuals).

True cases :

1. a child, initially diagnosed with "failure to Thrive" - was first medicated, next seen by various Mental-health professionals (1 of whom molested this poor child), and then - placed in a psych Inpatient institution. There, a nurse witnessed how "Behavior therapy" is applied, with inmates further being harmed. This child confided to this nurse "The people who hurt me, told me 'never tell what has happened to you, because if you do, we will SHOCK your brain until you die'. I am soo scared, can you help me - please".

This nurse reported this, but it was ignored it with "You can't believe what these kids claim ! - they're SICK, that's why they're here. Get real"

question:

How else could this nurse have advocated ? for this girl, so that at least she can be physically safe. Of course, what she needs is a *healthy mother & father, really*.

2. A woman was subjected to General-anesthesia, and failing post-operatively as far as VS, also suffered horrendous pain. The (brand-new) nurse caring for her, reported this to her supervisor immediately, and her surgeon (who also happened to be the Chief of surgery, at this Teaching medical center) - chose to order Treatment placing this woman's very life, even more at risk. This nurse 'sensed' this woman was in grave danger unless they corrected the problem created during surgery. Her fore-boding sensation was ridiculed, and sure enough - the poor woman died.

On autopsy, a surgical tool was discovered still left inside her. That experience taught this nurse loads about 'the world of "Medicine" ', right ?

How else could this nurse have advocated for this woman, so that this patient's life could have been protected ?

3. in a Medicare LTC-facility, a nurse witnessed her Charge-nurse abuse un-coperative patients with "Shut-up!, and take your g-d pills before I smack you right now". After almost fainting, this nurse reported her Charge-nurse to their DON. To make matters worse, unbeknownst to this nurse, these 2 nurses were friends, so the DON took no further action. The State was in this Nursing home almost every week, so - this nurse asked the Surveyor one day: "How come our Charge-nurse is still practicing, after her abuse was reported to our DON". Well, that did it; but - someone made an anonymous phone-call, and issued a "Death-threat" to this nurse's little child on the phone at home.

question:

How can Medical-workers protect their own lives plus the lives of their Loved-ones, acting as caring Advocates for others ?

4. A woman's family signed a contract with Hospice. The mother wanted to live pain-free, but not really die. The people who could have helped her, were denied Legal recourse, so the son secured the Morphine for ending their mother's life. One of the children, a nurse, believes that euthanasia is another (socially-accepted) word for Murder. But she was over-ruled.

question:

How can nurses protect themselves, and their Loved-ones, from "Medical-dangers, and harmful ways" ?

5. A nurse advocated for *SAFE-practice changes* inside 3 Assisted-living facilities, but was discharged from the 1st. over "Religeous descrimination". In telling court-officials about this situation, one told her "Good luck with this one, as lots of us belong to their church too, and so I can't help you". say what ! - Judges must "obey the laws", right ?

and

A nurse was also not welcome in another Assisted-facility, this time over "Racial descrimination". (Administration is AA, and nurse is caucasian). We are now in the 21st-century, so why is society-at-large still as barbaric as it was in the days of Rome ?

and

in the 3rd. Home, this same nurse (in all 3 cases) finally got her wish, by serving as manager; and when the State surveyed again, their recommendation was: "Excellent care with High resident satisfation".
