accucare mattress & falls

Lately my ortho floor had a few falls by pts who were on accucare low air loss mattresses. These mattresses are so thick, they are higher than the side rails. Many of us have been concerned about the safety issue for some time because the pt that needs this type of mattress often is confused as well. The mattress adds about 8" or so to the height. Has anyone else run into this issue & is there any type of extension that could be added to the rails to at least raise them higher than the mattress?
