Nursing interviews for New Grad Nurses

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hey there my fellow nurses ! I had my first interview after getting my liscense almost a month ago. I feel like it went well, I was nervous at first and answered the "tell me about yourself question " a bit shaky. I did over come my nerves and was able to ease into the rest of the interview pretty well. I had practiced some common questions and had done my research for that health care system. It felt like it lasted a while, although now I realize it was just only a little over 23-25 min. 😞 Now I'm kind of nervous. I did ask one question about continuing education and if they helped blah blah. I don't know how many positions were available but there was one girl before me and two more in the lobby waiting to be called.

any advice or things I should keep in my as far as interview go?

Thanks !

One interview question that I remember I wasn't able to answer was "what do you know about the organisation?" So read or search anything about the the organisation that you're applying to.

Thanks for your reply! It has been 1 week since my interview I'm waiting patiently but the wait is killing me, constantly checking my phone and email. I also had another interview for another hospital they told me 2 weeks I should hear back.

Sooooo I am Still currently unemployed

I think the key to being successful in the nursing interviews is to practice. It's your one big chance do you don't want to blow it. Be ready with an answer for every question that they throw at you. This helped me tremendously, but I had to put the time in to practice.
