Interview with Nurse Administrator, what to expect?

Nurses Job Hunt

I had an interview back in May with a nurse manager and charge nurse on a unit at a local hospital. I just received a call for a follow-up 15 minute interview with the nurse administrator of the hospital. Does anyone have any idea what this interview would consist of? The first interview asked very unit-specific clinical questions. I'm hoping this won't be quite as intense as the first! Has anyone had to meet with a nurse admin. during the interview process?

I'm just winging this, but if your first interview was unit-clinical specific (as you say), maybe this one will be more personal oriented. Like 'where do you see yourself in 5 years? 'and 'any educational goals?'. Just guessing ----

Did you talk about any of the financials and benes and HR personnel stuff at the first interview??? Since this is to be s short interview, maybe this might be a discussion of those details.

Take it as a good sign that you've got a second interview after the first so you must have made a positive impression.

Good luck.

Thanks and I really hope it's an easier interview like that! I haven't dealt with HR at all, I have only interviewed with the unit manager. I was told that only the managers interview nurses, HR doesn't at all. All my friends that work in hospitals only interviewed with the manager, so this whole nurse admin. interview is new to me! I'm not even sure why I have to...

Every place is different so every interview process is most likely different, too. The nurse administrator may just be wanting to size you up/check you out. You got past round one so this may be round two.

Don't know when your interview is but hope all goes well for you.
